My mom teaches me a lot. She’s the reason I have style–I grew up going to home shows and reading her Southern Living magazines after she’d methodically worked through the articles cover to cover. I’ve watched her experiment with her cooking for our small family and a select few friends deemed close enough to be guinea pigs. Our living room is currently covered in 10 different shades of paint colors as she searches for just the perfect hue.
She’s taught me what it means to be creative. I learned from her example that your output in your creative life is only as rich as what you fill your mind with. She seeks inspiration non-stop. I first watched her with interior design magazines, cook books, and home shows, only to see her take to the web like a natural. I didn’t sign up for Pinterest until my mom asked me how she could get an invitation back when you had to wait weeks on a waiting list. She’s a veracious reader of blogs and has given me more insight into launching Living Bear than any other one person. If you haven’t seen her presence on Pinterest, you’re missing out. She get’s it.
There really isn’t any point to this post other than for me to get a chance to brag about my mom. And maybe to point you over to her Pinterest.
She’s my Valentine today.
